Product

Are the supplements actually clinically dosed?

Yes. Every ingredient in every formulation is dosed at therapeutic levels — meaning the amounts that clinical research has shown to actually do something — rather than the token amounts often used to fill out a label.

For example, our Vitamin D3 in the Female 16–30 box is 800 IU. Most supermarket multivitamins contain 200–400 IU. The Iron in the same box is 18 mg of bisglycinate (a well-absorbed form), versus the typical 5–8 mg of iron sulphate found in cheaper multivitamins.

You can see every dose in every formulation on the what's in the box page.

How is this different from Vitabiotics, Centrum, or Holland & Barrett's own brand?

Three meaningful differences:

Format. One pre-loaded daily strip, posted monthly. No bottles, no decanting, no missed days.

Doses and forms. We use bioavailable forms of nutrients (like methylcobalamin B12 instead of cyanocobalamin) at therapeutic doses. Most one-pill multivitamins use cheaper forms at lower doses to keep the cost down and the pill small.

Packaging. Fully recyclable kraft cardboard. No plastic anywhere.

We're not necessarily the cheapest option. We're the considered one.

Why six tablets instead of one?

Because the right doses of vitamins, minerals, omega-3, and other nutrients can't all fit in one pill. The "one pill does it all" multivitamins compromise on dose to fit everything in. A clinically meaningful dose of magnesium alone is 270–400mg — that's already most of a pill.

By splitting into six smaller tablets, we can give you proper doses of each ingredient without asking you to swallow something the size of a peanut.

Are the tablets vegetarian or vegan?

The tablets themselves are vegetarian. The Omega-3 capsules use a fish-oil-based gelatin shell, so the formulations containing Omega-3 are not currently suitable for vegans or strict vegetarians.

A plant-based Omega-3 alternative (algal oil in a vegetable cellulose capsule) is in development for our second product run. If a fully vegan option matters to you, sign up to the Founding 100 and tell us — it's already on our roadmap and your interest will help us prioritise it.

Are there any allergens?

The Omega-3 capsules are derived from fish (small oily fish like sardines and anchovies, sustainably sourced). Beyond that, the tablets are free from gluten, dairy, soy, nuts, and the major allergens.

A complete allergen and ingredient list will accompany every box. If you have a specific allergy concern, email hello@happypills.com before ordering and we'll send you the full ingredient breakdown for the relevant formulation.

Manufacturing & quality

Where are the supplements made?

The tablets are manufactured in the United Kingdom by an established contract manufacturer specialising in nutritional supplements. The facility is GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified, which is the international quality standard for pharmaceutical-grade production.

The packaging is also produced in the UK. Boxes are assembled and dispatched from a UK fulfilment partner.

Is the manufacturing GMP certified?

Yes. Our manufacturing partner holds full GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification, which means every batch is produced under controlled, audited conditions. Each batch is tested for purity, potency, and contaminants (heavy metals, microbes, etc.) before being released.

Batch numbers and expiry dates are printed on every Happy Pills box for traceability.

How long do the supplements last?

Each box contains four weekly strips of seven days each — 28 days, exactly four weeks of supply. Tablets remain at full potency for at least 24 months from the manufacturing date when stored in the original packaging at room temperature.

You'll always receive boxes with at least 12 months of shelf life remaining. We don't ship anything close to expiry.

Are the ingredients sustainably sourced?

Where it's possible to source sustainably, we do. The Omega-3 is sourced from sustainably fished species (small, fast-reproducing fish low in the food chain). The plant-based ingredients are sourced from suppliers with established sustainability credentials.

We're working towards full supply-chain transparency for every ingredient by year two. We'll publish what we know, and what we don't, in our annual sustainability report.

Subscription & delivery

How does the subscription work?

Once Happy Pills launches commercially (after the Founding 100 pilot), you'll subscribe through the website and your first box will be dispatched within 3–5 working days. After that, a fresh box arrives at your letterbox every four weeks, timed so you never run out.

You can pause, skip, or cancel any time through your account. There are no minimum commitments and no cancellation fees.

Will it actually fit through my letterbox?

Yes. Every box is designed to UK Royal Mail "Large Letter" specifications — 220mm × 155mm × 30mm thick. That fits through every standard UK letterbox without needing a signature, a redelivery, or a "sorry we missed you" card.

If you live somewhere with an unusual letterbox setup, get in touch and we'll work it out.

What if I want to cancel?

Cancel any time, no questions asked, no hoops to jump through. Log into your account, click cancel, and that's it. Any remaining boxes you've already paid for will still be dispatched.

We'd love to know why you're leaving so we can do better — but a five-second cancellation experience is the minimum standard.

Can I change which formulation I receive?

Yes. You can switch between the seven formulations any time through your account. The change will apply to your next dispatch.

This is useful if your needs change (a new pregnancy, hitting a new age band, etc.) or if you're buying for different family members on the same account.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Not yet. The launch is UK-only because Royal Mail letterbox delivery is central to the experience and the carbon story. Once we're established in the UK, expanding to Ireland and selected European markets is on the roadmap.

If you're outside the UK and interested, sign up to the Founding 100 anyway — it tells us where the international demand is.

How much will it cost when it launches?

Pricing varies by formulation:

Under 16: £14.99 / month
16–30 (her or him): £21.99 / month
30–50 (her or him): £27.99 / month
50+ (her or him): £34.99 / month

Founding 100 members get their first box free, and a permanent 20% lifetime discount once we launch commercially.

Safety & medical

Are the under-16 supplements safe?

The under-16 formulation is carefully scaled for growing bodies — reduced doses, age-appropriate ingredients, and only the supplements that have evidence of genuine benefit for children (rather than scaled-down adult products).

That said, we strongly recommend speaking to your GP or a registered nutritionist before starting any supplement regimen for a child, particularly if they have any underlying health conditions or take any other medications. Happy Pills is designed to complement, not replace, a balanced diet.

Can I take Happy Pills if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Pregnant and breastfeeding women have specific nutritional needs (notably higher folate and iron, plus DHA from Omega-3) that aren't fully met by our standard female formulations.

We're developing a dedicated pregnancy/postpartum formulation for our second product run. In the meantime, please consult your midwife, GP, or obstetrician before starting any supplement regimen during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Will Happy Pills interact with my medication?

Some supplements can interact with certain medications. Common examples: Vitamin K can affect blood-thinning medications like warfarin; iron can affect the absorption of some thyroid medications; Omega-3 at high doses can affect blood clotting.

If you're taking any prescription medication, please check with your GP or pharmacist before starting Happy Pills. Show them the formulation breakdown from the what's in the box page so they can make an informed recommendation.

Can I take Happy Pills with my existing supplements?

Generally not advisable, because you'd risk doubling up on dosages — and some vitamins (notably A and D) can be harmful in excessive amounts.

The point of Happy Pills is to replace the chaos of multiple individual supplements with one properly balanced regimen. Most people find they don't need to take anything else.
